Victoria International Airport (YYJ) Shuttle to Butchart Gardens and Back

Airport transfers to and from the world-famous Butchart Gardens in Brentwood Bay. Jennie Butchart began turning her husband's exhausted limestone quarry into the Sunken Garden here in 1912; today it's a National Historic Site of Canada with over 900 plant varieties, a short, scenic ride from YYJ.

How the Butchart Gardens transfer works

Book online with your flight number, pickup address and number of passengers. Your flight is tracked, and the driver meets you on arrival for a door-to-door ride to Butchart Gardens. Returning to YYJ? Book the same flat rate in the other direction.

Getting there by public transit

One transfer gets you there: BC Transit route 87 or 88 runs from YYJ to McTavish Exchange, where route 81 continues directly into Butchart Gardens — about 60 minutes door to door for a $6 day pass, by the Gardens' own directions.

When to leave for Butchart Gardens

Gate hours set the day more than the drive does: in September 2026 the Gardens open 9am to 5pm, with viewing continuing for an hour after the gates close. The Gardens estimate 25 to 30 minutes by road from YYJ, so the gate time is usually the real constraint, not the drive. Daily admission tickets aren't tied to a specific entry time outside the Christmas season, so there's no need to time a booking to the minute.
