Getting to & from the airport — transport optionsYYJ

YYJ is about 25 km north of downtown Victoria on the Saanich Peninsula. Here are your ground-transportation options, with the trade-offs, so you can pick what fits your trip.

Flat-rate shuttle / private transfer (Victoria Airport Shuttle)

Door-to-door with a fixed price shown before you book, flight tracking and no surge. Best when you want certainty, luggage help, or are travelling as a family or group. This is what we do.

Taxi

Available at the terminal, metered. Convenient on arrival but the fare varies with traffic and you don’t know the total in advance.

Uber / Lyft (rideshare)

Pickup at the curb by the Short Term Lot. Pricing is dynamic and rises at peak times and in bad weather, so the airport trip can cost more than expected.

BC Transit

Public bus to downtown Victoria for about $6 — the cheapest option, but with stops, a fixed timetable and limited luggage space.

Car rental

Five agencies have counters in the arrivals area. Makes sense if you need a car for your whole stay, but adds parking and fuel costs.
